This Privacy Policy explains how Typing Maitra ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when educational institutions ("Institutes") and their students use our typing application deployed on the Microsoft Store.

Our application is a business-to-business (B2B) educational tool provided directly to Institutes. We do not charge students directly, and student accounts are entirely managed by their respective Institutes.

1. Information We Collect

To publish on the Microsoft Store and provide our services, we are required to disclose the personal information we access, collect, or transmit. We collect the following data to provide a comprehensive educational experience:

  • Account Information: When an Institute registers a student, we collect basic profile details (name, username, assigned Institute ID).
  • Performance & Usage Data: We track typing speed (WPM), accuracy, lesson progress across all supported languages (Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi), exam results, and certificates earned.
  • Multiplayer Data: To support our online multiplayer typing games, we collect and display global ranking scores and match results.
  • AI Interaction Data: Text inputted by users specifically for AI-assisted feedback is processed through the Gemini model to provide real-time typing guidance.
  • Device and Diagnostic Data: We collect basic, anonymized device information and crash reports solely to ensure compatibility and improve app stability. This data does not contain personally identifiable information.

2. How We Use the Information

The collected data is used strictly for educational and operational purposes:

  • To track, evaluate, and display student progress, test scores, and typing certificates.
  • To facilitate online multiplayer typing games and maintain global ranking leaderboards.
  • To process text through the Gemini AI model for personalized typing feedback.
  • To communicate performance metrics back to the managing Institute.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell user data. We only share data in the following specific circumstances:

With the Institute

All student progress and certificates are fully accessible to the Institute that manages the account.

AI Service Providers

User inputs required for the AI feature are sent securely to Google's Gemini API for processing.

4. Data Security & Retention

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect the data of Institutes and students from unauthorized access.

Data Retention: Student data is retained only for as long as the Institute maintains an active account with us. Upon the termination of an Institute's account, all associated student data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

5. Children's Privacy

Our application is distributed strictly through educational Institutes. The Institutes act as administrators and are responsible for obtaining parental consent for students under the age of 13.

6. Data Deletion and User Rights

We are committed to giving users control over their data. Because student accounts are provisioned and managed directly by the educational Institutes, the following procedures apply:

  • For Students/Parents: To request access to, modification of, or complete deletion of your personal data, please contact your Institute's administration directly.
  • For Institutes: Administrators can request the permanent deletion of specific student records or their entire institutional account by contacting our support team at support@educerns.org.
  • Compliance: We will process and fulfill all authorized data deletion requests within 14 business days.
